Job Summary
M.D. Charlton Co. Ltd. (MDC), Canada’s largest distributor of law enforcement supplies, is looking for an Accounts Receivable Officer. The office is located on Keating Cross Road in Saanichton, BC.
Primary duty will be Accounts Receivable (AR) control and management.

- A general understanding of accounting principles is an asset but not required if you have a willingness to learn.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Post payments from electronic file transfers (EFT’s), cheques, e-mails and telephone calls.
- Prepare bank deposits for cheques and cash.
- Print aging accounts receivable report from ERP system (weekly).
- Print / e-mail and forward AR statements for customers (beginning of the month).
- Balance AR cash receipts to accounting general ledger.
- Reconcile petty cash.
- Call customer/client to follow-up on past due accounts/Create and-or update customer master files as needed.
- Accounts receivable tasks including billings, payments, and deposits.
- Assist Sales Representatives/Agents with customer accounts.
- Perform various tasks and projects as they arise.
- Make collection phone calls on past due accounts on a daily basis.
- Ability to reconcile customer accounts daily.
- Respond to customer inquiries and maintain a workable long-term relationship.
- Properly apply payments to billings and analyze customers accounts.
- Have control of overdue accounts prepare appropriate control reports.
- Understand customer contracts.
- Maintenance of accurate customer files.
- Ensure policy and procedure compliance filing (short-term and long-term storage), including digital archiving.
- Perform ad-hoc related duties as required.
You will be provided necessary training for all the above duties
Education:
- Secondary School (preferred)
- Basic certificate/diploma in accountancy inclusive of accounts receivable module. Other relevant qualifications may be considered.
Experience:
- Accounts Receivable (AR) control experience: 1 year (preferred)

Shift:
- Monday to Friday ,7.5 hrs daily
